Event 1 of the Borgata Summer Open was a $500+$60 NLH Deep Stack event with a $1,000,000. It drew a massive field of 2,286 entries creating a prize pool of $1,108,710. When the dust settled Zach Schwartz was the last man standing.
Schwartz came into Day 3 with the second largest stack but gained control of the chip lead early at the final table. The chip lead changed hands multiple times but Schwartz kept his cool and was able to stay near the top throughout much of the night.
When heads up play began between Schwartz and Larry Abrams it was Abrams who held a slight lead. The two played an epic heads up match that lasted close to five hours. The last hand of the night surely did not disappoint as Schwartz held and Abrams on the flop. The turn and river sealed the deal for Schwartz as he improved to a full house.
Schwartz takes home his second Borgata title and his largest career tournament score of $160,265 for his victory here tonight.
