Event 7 of the Borgata Summer Poker Open was the $260+$40 NLH Ladies Event. A total of 28 players entered creating a prize pool of over $7,000. Katie Stone stood out early on as she was not only playing live poker but six tournament tables on the virtual felt.
Stone has been on a heater as of late making her third Borgata final appearance in the last month and half. It was the tale of two hands at the final table that vaulted her into the chip lead. Her had turned a flush on a board of and Tracey Lafollette moved all in holding . Lafollette was eliminated and it was down to the final three players.
Stone immediately scored a big double up holding against the of Jamie Giunta who was eliminated in third. When heads up play they agreed to count the stacks down and it was Stone holding the chip lead. They agreed to an ICM deal in which Stone takes home $2,867 and her first Borgata Poker Open title. We’re sure we’ll be seeing plenty more of Katie Stone throughout this Summer Poker Open as she looks to continue her recent heater.
