With 20 tables active over in the Poker Room, it was worth a hike to check out the action.
A crowd was standing around Table 29 as they were sorting out the main and side pots. The flop read and Yurii Rybak was all-in against two players, seat 1 (utg) and BorgataPoker.com sponsored pro Craig Rubinstein (sb).
Once the pots were right, Craig moved the last of his chips all-in dark before the dealer produced the on the turn. Seat 1 called and the hands were tabled:
Craig: – pair of 9s, flush draw
Seat 1: – gutshot, nut-flush draw
Yurii: – nut straight, useless flush draw
With most of the spades already exposed, the flush was unlikely and Yurii was at-risk but ahead. Craig was leading for the side pot and needed to fade spades, Queens and Aces.
He called for a nine and sure enough, the completed the board. Yurii took the main pot with his straight, chipping up to about 60,000. Craig claimed the side pot and was left with about 37,000.
