Flight D will play four more levels and survivors will bag up for a return tomorrow at noon.

Flight D players returned from their third break of the day and registration is closed. But there is always Flight E freshly underway in the poker room if players still want some action.
The next-to-last flight is showing 593 entries on the tournament clock, still waiting on the locked in number, and that is well more than enough to top the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. They pushed over that amount and now they will begin piling it higher until registration closed on Flight E later this evening.

Ci Zhou needed to make a move to build a stack or hit the re-entry desk. He was down to ~55,000 and moved all in from early position. One player called before another player shipped all-in for another 100,000 on top. The original caller abandoned his chips and they were heads up for his triple.

It was a race and Zhou was already standing up with his backpack on. His opponent hit the flop but the board also gave Zhou the set. But there’s always a sweat and the
turn gave him a little concern. The
river was a face card but the wrong one for his opponent and Zhou tripled his boat.

There are a few Borgata legends in the game today but maybe none with the crazier ride of Asher Conniff. In 2015, Conniff began his Borgata Spring Poker Open with a win in the opening event for more than $200,000 and bookended it with a huge win in the series ending WPT World Championship for nearly $1,000,000. That was a heck of a run and bankroll boost.
Since that was the last WPT World Championship before they switched over to a Tournament of Champions format, Conniff continues to be the reigning WPT World Champion. He’s doing fine so far today with more than 250,000 from his 100,000 starting stack.
Conniff is also eligible to play in the Borgata Tournament of Champions on Saturday celebrating the Borgata’s 15th Anniversary.

Both the Signature Room and poker room are filling with players and the biggest flight of the Almighty Stack continues to push the numbers higher. The magic number is 576 to hit the guaranteed prize pool and we might get there before the last fight kicks off at 5pm.
Borgata reg Mike Policastro is taking his shot today and looking for his first Borgata title after two close calls. He finished in second position in a Deep Stacks Challenge series event in February after he final tabled a Deepstack event during the 2018 Borgata Winter Poker Open.
