With 12 minutes remaining in the level and on bubble hand #29, Mark Bayag saw a short-stacked opponent move all in for 26,100 and he called with his big stack and the bigger hand.
Bayag:
Opponent:
Bayag was dominating with the money bubble on the line and some voices were raised after the flop. The
turn prompted other players standing around to beg the dealer not to do it. Bayag needed to fade a spade and the
river was good enough to send him the hand and put the rest of the field into the money.
Tournament staff stopped action for the night and players are bagging their chips for a noon return tomorrow.

On the 28th hand on the bubble, Artur Zaikansky moved all in for 26,100 and Brett Apter called on the button for a chance to put the rest on the money.
Apter:
Zaikansky:
It was a race and Zaikansky whiffed the flop. Apter made a set on the
turn and Zaikansky stood up as the rest of the players gathered around. The four-out
binked the river and there was a racket with the double.

Another ten hands are down on the money bubble but we did have one big action hand. In a three-way pot, Brett Apter got his last 71,600 in after the flop. Pradeep Adumala called to put him at risk and Apter was ahead.
Apter:
Adumala:
Apter’s set of tens had him out front but he had to fade the diamond draw. The added another sweat on the river but it blanked
to give him the money bubble double.

We are ten hands into the money bubble process and there’s been very little action. A lot of walks and the occasional three-bet to take down a pot pre-flop and a few check downs.
The clock ran out on Level 15 and the blinds are up.

With the complete board reading , Reece Humphrey moved all in and had his opponent covered for his last 35,000. He thought and thought and thought some more and called at risk.
Humphrey flipped over for running quads and his opponent quickly tossed his cards into the muck before they could be tabled.
That left the Six-Max event down to 13 players with an extended money bubble hand-for-hand process now likely with the average stack well over 60 big blinds.

The final break of the day is complete and we have a new chip leader. Reece Humphrey slipped down a little and Mark Bayag moved up to 390,000. That’s good enough for the chip lead after the break with Pradeep Adumala in second with 370,000 followed by Humphrey.
While this post was in production, we quickly lost three players and the Six-Max is one elimination away from going into hand-for-hand mode.

Six-Max players are heading off on another break with 17 players still around with a chance to make the money and earn a trophy. Michael Kemeter knows about trophies.
In 2015, Kemeter entered this tournament and was the last player standing over 128 entries. One year later, he repeated that feat by capturing another Six-Max title over another 120 entries. A rare title defense that fell short last year of the three-peat. After a year away from a title, he’s still grinding along with an average stack near the bubble.

Reece Humphrey was in the big blind against the under the gun opponent to the flop and he bet 4,000. His opponent chuckled and tossed in a call. Humphrey checked the
turn then check-raised to 18,000 after an 8,000 bet. The
river prompted Humphrey to put in a stack while announcing “all in.”
The UTG player had ~50,000 behind, shrug-called with kings up but was second best to Humphrey’s flopped nut flush with
. It was a big pot that pushed Humphrey over 450,000 as they get closer to the money.

It only took 12 minutes to lose another table, two minutes per player, and we are down to 18 in the Six-Max event with 12 getting paid. The plan is to play down into the money, redraw the last two tables, and then call it a night for a Day 2 return tomorrow at noon.
