Craig Rubinstein played the 1pm $270+$30 Championship Satellite yesterday, earning his seat in today’s $2,500+$200 Championship for only $300. Would you call that cheap-rolling?
He’s one of BorgataPoker.com’s sponsored pros and plays a lot online, usually getting his tournament seats in online satellites. This time he decided to try it out live and he scored his seat. Now he’s just got to make it pay off with a deep run.
Craig won the $350 Monster Stack event back in March, earning his best live cash of $17,126 and that’s his only Borgata title, so far.

Players continue to arrive and take their seats here in the Poker Room. This field will grow slowly throughout the day as players don’t feel the urgency. That 30,000 starting stack now represents 150 big blinds.
Not everyone can afford to pony up $2,700 to play in the Championship event and for those players, we’ve got satellites running all day today, and even Monday morning!
Three satellites will be running today at Borgata:
1 PM – Event 32 – $270 + $30 Championship Qualifier NLH (~1 in 10)
4 PM – Event 33 – $540 + $60 Championship Mega Qualifier NLH (~1 in 5)
7 PM – Event 34 – $270 + $30 Championship Qualifier NLH (~1 in 10)
Since registration remains open into Day 2, there will be another satellite running Monday evening, for a Day 2 start:
6PM – Event 36 – $270 + $30 Last Chance Championship Qualifier NLH (~1 in 10)
There are also online satellites running at BorgataPoker.com. Click here for details.

The parade of players to the payout desk has been steady since the bubble burst. The Almighty 500 players have returned from a break and we got a chance to check out the big stacks:
Daniel Tu – 5.15 million
Nikolaos Platis – 5.08 million
Tyng Low – 4.5 million
‘Lucky’ Lee Kirsch – 4.2 million
Satish Surapaneni – 4.2 million
Anthony Gaerlan – 4 million
Thomas Beccari – 3 million
Lee Kirsch’s luck has apparently kicked in big time. He recently had pocket Aces in three out of five consecutive hands, and that was split between two different tables because he was moved.
One of those hands was against Asher Conniff, who got his last ~2 million in with AK and ran into Lee’s Aces. Asher busted out in 155th place ($859). That hand boosted Lee’s stack beyond 4 million.
