The final event of the 2016 Borgata Summer Open Series was the WFAN Deepest Stack event, where players begin with a 50,000 stack. The event drew 472 entrants and at 7 am – some 20 hours after the tournament began – wrapped up with John McGuinness winning the trophy and $23,391.
“I feel great about the win,” McGuinness said. “It was a great tournament series overall. With this win my brother, Mike McGuinness, has to recognize that I’m the better player in the family.”
“Every player at the final table was pretty good. I made some hands, had a little luck and maybe I played pretty well too to get the trophy,” he added. “The Borgata always does an amazing job with their tournament series – it’s my favorite place to play poker in the Northeast.”
That wraps the 20 events in the 2016 Borgata Summer Open, coming up in August is the Summer Heater Series and then in September the Borgata Poker Open.
